Will you be able to obtain my family crest for me?

This has to be the most common question we receive.

Firstly there is no such thing as a family crest. It is neither a crest nor belongs to a family. Technically the crest is a small feature of a coat of arms. It is the coat of arms people seek.

Coat of arms are like trade marks in the business world. They only belong to their owners. A coat of arms was granted to an individual and belongs to that person and their immediate primary heirs only. In the same way as a peer or monarch inherits a title so does someone inherit a coat of arms.

You may be entitled to bear arms, that is you are armigerous! In our experience we have never come across someone who was entitled to a coat of arms and did not already know about it! We look forward to the day this happens!
